Governor Umo Eno reveals past monthly earnings of ₦10 million from food business
Akwa Ibom State Governor Umo Eno has disclosed that he previously earned at least ₦10 million per month from a small-scale food business. Speaking during the state’s monthly covenant prayer service, Eno recounted his entrepreneurial beginnings, specifically describing a venture where he sold “Akara Burger”—a combination of akara and bread.
Eno noted that the business served customers, including those heading to Exxon Mobil, and eventually expanded into a coffee shop. His remarks come shortly after First Lady Oluremi Tinubu advised Nigerians to explore low-capital businesses to improve their financial standing.
The governor's comments have drawn mixed reactions on social media. While some citizens praised his willingness to share his business journey and encourage entrepreneurship, others expressed skepticism regarding the reported monthly earnings or questioned why he transitioned away from the profitable venture.
