Governor Yeraldine Bonilla Visits Flood‑Hit Communities in Mocorito, Sinaloa

Governor Yeraldine Bonilla of Sinaloa toured municipalities in the Mocorito region after heavy rains caused severe flooding. Accompanied by municipal mayor Enrique Parra Melecio and General Julio César Islas Sánchez of the Ninth Military Zone, she inspected the hardest‑hit localities—including El Progreso, Palmar de los Leal and Rosamorada—listening to residents and assessing damage to homes and roads.

The governor ordered a census of affected families and directed immediate cleanup and reconstruction efforts. State agencies distributed aid: 600 food parcels, 350 mattresses, 100 stove‑and‑gas kits, 100 additional mattresses, 100 personal‑hygiene kits, 100 cleaning kits, 100 cots, 100 fans, and 25,000 L of purified water. Medical kits with antibiotics, antiparasitics and other supplies were also provided. Similar assistance was reported in nearby towns of Guasave and Salvador Alvarado.

Bonilla pledged continued support through the state DIF, the health secretariat, public works and civil‑protection officials, emphasizing the need for accurate needs assessments and rapid restoration of infrastructure.
