Governors Shapiro and Whitmer campaign together in Philadelphia

Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer joined Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro in Philadelphia to campaign for Democratic candidates ahead of the upcoming November elections. During a visit to a local diner, both leaders emphasized the high stakes of the upcoming races.

Shapiro, who is running for a second term as governor of Pennsylvania against Republican Stacy Garrity, focused his remarks on the importance of providing a check on President Donald Trump. Whitmer, who is completing her second term and will not be on the ballot this year, praised Shapiro’s administration and highlighted the role of governors in protecting rights and managing economic issues such as tariffs and international conflicts.
