GovTech Summit 2026 opens in Bogotá to advance public sector AI

The GovTech Summit 2026 commenced on November 3 in Bogotá, bringing together approximately 1,000 technology leaders and public officials from 11 countries. Organized by Colombia Tech and Estado X, the summit aims to accelerate the procurement of artificial intelligence and digital solutions across more than 140 state entities.

Bogotá Mayor Carlos Fernando Galán emphasized that innovation and technology are fundamental pillars of his administration, noting the importance of supporting the scientific and technological entrepreneurship ecosystem to improve government results. The event addresses the urgent need for local governments to optimize operating expenses through predictive tools for revenue collection, cadastral management, and citizen services.

The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) is also participating, highlighting regional interest in the summit and the potential evolution of the country's financial and administrative regulatory frameworks.
