Gowa Regent Sitti Husniah Talenrang barred from traveling amid corruption probe

The South Sulawesi Regional Police (Polda Sulsel) have issued a travel ban preventing Gowa Regent Sitti Husniah Talenrang from traveling abroad. This action follows her designation as a suspect in a corruption investigation involving Building Approval (PBG) processes and alleged money laundering.

Investigators have issued summons for Husniah to undergo questioning as a suspect and have also summoned several witnesses to assist in the probe. The police have formally notified the Minister of Home Affairs and the Governor of South Sulawesi regarding her legal status. While Husniah has not been detained and is reportedly cooperating with authorities, investigators noted that detention remains a possibility depending on future compliance and the risk of evidence tampering.
