Gowa Regent pursues legal action after Supreme Court letter misdelivered

PT Pos Indonesia Cabang Sungguminasa has admitted to a delivery error involving a Supreme Court (MA) letter intended for Gowa Regent Sitti Husniah Talenrang. The letter was meant to provide the Regent with an opportunity to respond to a Gowa DPRD opinion test regarding a proposal for her dismissal.

According to the Regent's legal counsel, Adhi Bintang, the letter was handed to PT Pos on September 2, 2026, but was mistakenly delivered to the Sungguminasa Religious Court instead of the Regent's office. Consequently, the Regent did not receive the official notice before the Supreme Court issued its decision on October 1.

Regent Sitti Husniah Talenrang has announced plans to pursue legal action, including filing official complaints with the Supreme Court and the Ministry of Home Affairs. She expressed concerns regarding potential sabotage, suggesting the misdelivery may have been intentional, thereby depriving her of her legal right to respond and disrupting local governance.
