Goya, Argentina: Teenager in intensive care after rattlesnake bite
A 15-year-old boy, identified as Ezequiel S., is in intensive care in Goya, Corrientes, after being bitten by a rattlesnake. The incident occurred while the teenager was herding livestock in a rural area affected by the rising waters of the Paraná River.
The snake venom caused immediate and severe organ failure, requiring urgent medical intervention. Due to the intensive treatments needed to counteract the venom, the family has launched an urgent appeal for blood donations, requesting between 26 and 30 donors of any blood type to replenish medical stocks.
Local specialists noted that rising river levels often displace dangerous reptiles from remote islets toward more populated or frequented areas. Medical experts advise that anyone bitten by a snake should seek immediate medical assistance, remain as still as possible, and avoid using tourniquets or touching the wound.
