Goya fishing festival reaches record 1,400-team capacity in two hours
The 50th edition of the Fiesta Nacional del Surubí fishing competition in Goya, Argentina, has reached a record level of interest, with the quota of 1,400 teams being filled in approximately two hours. The Municipal Fishing Commission reported 1,413 online registrations, resulting in a waiting list.
Mayor Mariano Hormaechea described the rapid registration as a “problem of success,” noting that the high demand highlights the event's growth and prestige. The capacity limit was established to ensure organizational stability, transparency, and safety for all participants. The competition will utilize 14 designated fishing zones to manage the large number of participants.
