Regional initiatives promote disability inclusion and human rights
Various regional initiatives are focusing on disability inclusion and human rights through educational workshops and community events.
In Venezuela, Conapdis and the Misión José Gregorio Hernández Foundation conducted a workshop at UNEFA in Falcón. The training, led by psychologist Merlín Rodríguez, provided over 30 academic and administrative staff members with strategies regarding human rights, legal frameworks, and inclusive policies to support students with disabilities.
In Argentina, several cities are hosting inclusion-focused activities. Concepción del Uruguay is organizing a sensitization day involving UADER and local technology sectors to address physical and institutional barriers. In Sáenz Peña, the “Hora de Aventuras Inclusiva” provided recreational and sporting activities for people with disabilities as part of Special Education Month. Additionally, Goya is hosting “Inclusionarte,” a community event featuring art, games, and adaptive technology to promote active inclusion through shared learning.
