Goyang City implements in-house high-precision drone imagery system

Goyang City has established an in-house system to capture and produce high-precision drone imagery to meet the increasing demand for spatial information in administrative tasks. By utilizing dedicated personnel from the Land Information Division, the city can now manage the entire process from field photography to software-based video production.

This one-stop system is designed to support various administrative functions, including farmland surveys and the crackdown on illegal buildings. By moving away from reliance on external contractors, the city aims to reduce costs and provide departments with high-resolution orthophotos and 3D images exactly when needed.

Additionally, the city continues its high-precision electronic map project, which produces orthophotos with a resolution of 3cm or less across the entire city annually. These datasets are intended to serve as a foundation for smart city initiatives and artificial intelligence (AI) applications.
