Goyang City libraries launch environmental and agricultural programs for children

Libraries in Goyang City are launching specialized educational programs for children focused on environmental awareness and ecology.

Juyeop Children's Library will host ‘Children's Science Special Forces’ from September 5 to November 21. Aimed at students in grades 4–6, the 10-session program explores the climate crisis through expert lectures, workshops, and field trips to the Seoul Energy Dream Center. Participants will engage with science communicators and authors to connect climate issues with literature, ecology, and energy.

Separately, Nopbit Library, in collaboration with the Goyang Agricultural Technology Center, will run ‘From Today, I am an Urban Farmer’ from September 29 to October 24. This five-session program for grades 1–3 combines reading with agricultural and ecological experiences. Activities include planting and growing plants, as well as a visit to the Gawaji Millet Seed Museum to learn about local agricultural history.
