Goyang Mayor moves office to first floor to improve citizen access

Goyang Special City Mayor Min Kyung-sun has officially moved the mayor's office to the first floor of the City Hall building to fulfill a campaign promise of creating an ‘open mayor's office’ with lower barriers for citizens.

The relocation aims to reduce the physical and psychological distance between the administration and the public. The new layout integrates the mayor's office, the secretariat, and the communication and cooperation officer on the same floor to facilitate faster sharing of civil complaints and improve accessibility for the elderly and people with disabilities.

On his first day in the new office, Mayor Min held a meeting with representatives from strategic industries, including aerospace, medical/bio, and culture/contents, as well as citizens who have communicated via his direct text line. Regarding budget constraints affecting certain campaign promises, Min stated that he would prioritize essential projects and focus on persuading citizens through transparent communication.
