Goyang transfer center projects at Daegok and KINTEX stations included in national plan

The development of transfer centers at Daegok and KINTEX stations in Goyang has been officially included as ongoing projects in the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport’s ‘4th Basic Plan for the Construction of Transfer Centers and Complex Transfer Centers (2026–2030)’.

Daegok Station has been designated as the hub for the Goyang-Paju regional transport axis. As a major intersection for GTX-A, Line 3, the Gyeongui-Jungang Line, the Seohae Line, and the Gyeongui Line, the project aims to integrate rail, buses, taxis, and private vehicles to improve accessibility to Seoul. The development is expected to gain momentum by linking with the ‘Goyang Daegok Station Area Knowledge Convergence Complex’ currently being designed by the Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH).

KINTEX Station will also proceed as a transfer center project to enhance connectivity between GTX-A and local ground transportation such as buses and taxis. There is also potential for the KINTEX site to evolve into a future-oriented ‘AX Mobility Hub’ by linking with upcoming Urban Air Mobility (UAM) demonstration facilities.

Goyang City officials stated they will work to secure national funds and ensure these projects are organically linked with surrounding area developments to strengthen the region's role as a major transportation hub.
