Gozo and Cyprus attract digital nomads through infrastructure and visa programs

Mediterranean destinations Gozo and Cyprus are increasingly positioning themselves as hubs for remote professionals and digital nomads.

In Gozo, Malta, the island offers a slower pace of life supported by modern digital infrastructure, including nationwide fiber and 5G coverage. The region provides high-speed connectivity and co-working spaces, allowing professionals to balance remote work with a local lifestyle.

Cyprus has actively expanded its digital nomad visa program, increasing the quota to 1,000 permits for non-EU nationals. To ensure high-value integration, the program requires a minimum monthly net income of €3,500. Economic estimates from the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce suggest the visa program could generate over €10 million annually through increased spending on housing, health, and local services.
