GPD WIN Max 3 handheld gaming notebook announced

GPD has announced technical specifications for its upcoming high-end handheld gaming notebook, the WIN Max 3. The device is expected to target the luxury segment, with reports suggesting a starting price of approximately 1,699 USD or EUR for the base model.

Powered by AMD's Strix Halo architecture, the device will offer a choice between the Ryzen AI Max+ 388 and the more powerful Ryzen AI Max+ 395 processors. The hardware features include an integrated Radeon 8060S GPU and up to 128 GB of LPDDR5X-8000 RAM, allowing for significant unified memory allocation for graphics tasks.

The notebook will feature a 9.06-inch AMOLED display with a 165 Hz refresh rate and a brightness of up to 1,050 nits in High-Bandwidth-Memory mode. For thermal management, GPD utilizes a dual-fan internal system, with an optional detachable dual-fan module that can support platform performance up to 110 watts. The device also includes a unique 97 Wh removable magnetic battery module.

Official launch and shipping are anticipated around August and October 2026, respectively.
