GPT-6 Astra shows advanced reasoning in gaming benchmarks

The GPT-6 Astra artificial intelligence model has demonstrated significant advancements in complex gaming environments, outperforming previous models in speed and problem-solving. In Pokémon FireRed, Astra achieved the Champion title in 18 hours and 12 minutes, a substantial improvement over GPT-5.6 Sol, which required over 96 hours.

In Factorio, the model successfully produced research packages and launched its first rocket in approximately ten hours, surpassing the capabilities of GPT-5.6 Luna and Fable 5.1. Astra also completed the main story of Fallout 3 in roughly 59 hours and navigated RimWorld through multiple raids.

Despite these successes, the model encountered limitations in the open-ended environment of Minecraft. Following an in-game explosion by a Creeper that destroyed its base and resources, Astra exhibited repetitive behavior, spending several hours focused almost exclusively on farming potatoes. This incident highlighted the model's current struggle with unpredictable, high-stakes environmental changes in open-world settings.
