GPT Bad Nieuweschans reports drug and license violations
The Grensoverschrijdend Politieteam (GPT) Bad Nieuweschans, a joint task force comprising the Koninklijke Marechaussee, the German Bundespolizei, and the Landespolizei, reported several criminal findings during recent border operations.
In Bellingwolde, officers intercepted an Ukrainian driver using a counterfeit license and detained an individual sought for DNA collection and an outstanding sentence. Other incidents involved drivers with invalid licenses and a person found not wearing a required electronic ankle monitor.
During operations in Germany, authorities seized approximately 50 grams of cannabis and 45 grams of THC gummies, leading to the arrest of a driver suspected of illegal drug importation and driving under the influence. A separate incident in Bellingwolde on Sunday morning also involved a driver suspected of driving under the influence of drugs.
