GPU market faces high prices and scarcity for high-end models

The graphics card market is experiencing significant shifts in availability and pricing. High-end Blackwell series cards, such as the RTX 5090, 5080, and 5070 Ti, are reportedly scarce, with only residual stock available at retailers. In contrast, lower-end models like the 5050 through 5070 remain more accessible in limited quantities.

Consumer frustration is growing regarding high prices, which some attribute to the high cost of memory driven by massive demand from AI data centers. This demand is reportedly impacting the production and pricing of consumer-grade hardware.

On the collector side, vintage hardware is seeing unexpected value. A GeForce 4 Ti 4600 from 2002 was recently identified as potentially worth between $400 and $1,000 on eBay, particularly rare versions equipped with the Apple Display Connector (ADC).
