GQG Partners faces billions in outflows despite September investment gains

GQG Partners is facing significant client withdrawals, with the investment firm reporting US$2.3 billion in net outflows for September 2026. These outflows were largely offset by US$2.4 billion in investment performance gains during the same month.

As of September 30, 2026, the firm's total funds under management (FUM) stood at US$149.2 billion. This follows a period of substantial decline; year-to-date outflows have reached US$26.2 billion, causing total assets under management to drop by US$23.7 billion from a peak of US$172.9 billion in late February.

Executive chairman Rajiv Jain recently pivoted the firm's strategy regarding artificial intelligence. The flagship US$3.1 billion Global Equity Fund, which previously had no US technology exposure, aggressively increased holdings in companies such as Alphabet, Microsoft, Amazon, Apple, and Nvidia during July and August. These technology holdings now represent approximately one-quarter of the fund's portfolio.

Despite the outflows, GQG stated that its four primary investment strategies delivered positive absolute and relative returns during the third quarter of 2026.
