Gračac to host Croatia’s first international Napoleonic reenactment

Gračac will host the first international Napoleonic reenactment in Croatia from August 21 to 23 at St. George Park. The event, titled ‘Battle of Gračac’, aims to recreate the authentic conflict from 1809.

Historical units from four European countries are participating: the Italian Associazione Cultura e Rievocazione Imperi, the Hungarian Sorgyalog, the Austrian Jäger Bataillon Nr. 10, and the Czech Klub vojenské historie 7. Rota. These groups will perform alongside the local Historical Unit of the Lika Regiment Gračac.

The three-day program includes an authentic military camp with period-accurate tents and uniforms, military exercises, and artillery demonstrations. The central event, a large-scale reconstruction of the Battle of Gračac, is scheduled for Saturday, August 22, at 17:30, followed by a ceremonial parade. Sunday will feature demonstrations of Napoleonic-era soldier life, including cannon, rifle, and pistol firing.
