Grab executives invest $30M in personal shares after stock low

Grab executives Anthony Tan and Alexander Hungate have invested over $30 million of their personal capital into company shares following a significant drop in the stock price. CEO and co-founder Anthony Tan purchased approximately $29.88 million in Class A ordinary shares, while COO Alexander Hungate invested roughly $867,000.

The share buyback by leadership occurred after the stock hit a three-year low, coinciding with the announcement of Grab’s planned $4.5 billion acquisition of Atome Financial, a buy-now-pay-later provider. While the strategic pivot into financial services initially caused investor concern, Grab reported strong Q2 2026 results, including a 22% year-over-year revenue increase to $997 million and a 54% growth in adjusted EBITDA.

In addition to the executive purchases, the company has authorized a $900 million share buyback program over the next 12 months, with an additional $750 million in buybacks authorized alongside its recent financial guidance updates.
