Grace Adayilo Legacy Initiative launched in Abuja

The Grace Adayilo Legacy Initiative for Grassroots Development (GALI) has been officially launched in Abuja. The initiative was established to honor the memory of the late Grace Adayilo, the former indigenous female Head of Service of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), marking the first anniversary of her death.

During the launch, FCT Head of Civil Service Nancy Nathan pledged the administration's continued support for the initiative. She encouraged younger civil servants to emulate Adayilo’s dedication to public service and urged the foundation to operate with honesty, sincerity, and accountability.

Dr. Jumai Ahmadu, Director of the FCT Department of Reform Coordination and Service Improvement, stated that GALI aims to turn remembrance into service through grassroots development and community impact. A key component of the initiative involves supporting the Yeyedu Women Association, a group mentored by Adayilo, who was widely known as ‘Mama Africa’ for her commitment to women and community service.
