Grace Dawson celebrates 1,000 days of ocean swimming

Grace Dawson, a 34-year-old community health nurse with NSW Health, is celebrating a milestone of 1,000 consecutive days of swimming in the ocean, regardless of weather conditions. Dawson works across several clinics, including Nowra, St Georges Basin, Sussex Inlet, and Ulladulla, providing palliative, wound, and mental health care.

To mark the achievement, Dawson is fundraising for the mental health organization Beyond Blue. She aims to promote the therapeutic benefits of nature and the ocean for mental well-being, noting that her routine helps clear her mind and manage daily stress. She has also expressed interest in starting a sunrise swimming group in the southern Shoalhaven area to encourage others to engage with the ocean.
