Gracen Halton impresses in 49ers preseason debut

San Francisco 49ers rookie defensive tackle Gracen Halton has made a strong impression during training camp and his preseason debut against the Tennessee Titans. The fourth-round pick, drafted 107th overall out of Oklahoma, demonstrated his physical capabilities through a notable two-play sequence early in the exhibition game.

During the game, Halton split two offensive linemen to sack quarterback Cam Ward, though the play was later negated by a secondary penalty. On the subsequent play, he shed a block to stop tailback Tyjae Spears for a loss.

Veteran left tackle Trent Williams praised the rookie, noting Halton’s explosive short-area quickness and power. Halton has been a standout in one-on-one drills throughout the summer, utilizing his size and speed to compete effectively against established veterans.
