Gracie Abrams shares new album details, Paul Mescal collaboration

American singer‑songwriter Gracie Abrams is preparing to release her third studio album, Daughter From Hell, on 17 July. The record will feature singles such as “Look At My Life” – accompanied by a music video – and “Imaginary Friend,” which she co‑wrote with her boyfriend, Irish actor Paul Mescal. Abrams said the songwriting partnership was “so fun” and not a “groundbreaking event,” adding that their “creative home” includes friends who freely share ideas.

In a New York Times Popcast interview, Abrams explained she dislikes “the feeling of hiding” and values privacy, but chose to speak openly about the relationship and its influence on her music. She also reflected on her upbringing, noting that the album’s title track serves as an apology to her mother, Katie McGrath, and expresses gratitude for their repaired bond. Promotional activities include a North‑American “Look At My Life Tour” supported by Capital One and a forthcoming European leg.

The album’s rollout has generated significant streaming numbers, with earlier singles achieving millions of plays on platforms like Spotify, and has attracted coverage across multiple markets.
