Graciosa Island Health Center expansion inaugurated
The Azores Regional Government has inaugurated an expansion of the Health Center on Graciosa Island. The project, funded by the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR), involved an investment of approximately 500,000 euros.
The expansion increases the facility's area from 1,682 to 1,770.62 square meters. This development creates the necessary infrastructure to install a Computed Tomography (CT) scanner, a service previously unavailable on the island. This addition is expected to reduce the need for patients to travel to other islands for diagnostic imaging.
In addition to the expansion, the regional government has invested over 1.2 million euros in the Graciosa Island Health Unit through the PRR, which includes 640,000 euros for a Digital Hospital and 107,000 euros for the modernization of the Regional Health Service.
