Grad bola TV series filming begins in Belgrade

Filming has commenced in Belgrade for the new six-episode TV series ‘Grad bola’ (City of Pain), based on the autobiographical bestseller by Meti Kamberi. Directed by Luka Mihailović and produced by TS Media and Miloš Avramović’s Režim, the project explores themes of social marginalization, trauma, and the search for identity.

The story follows Amiraga, a Roma boy from a Niš neighborhood who, following a family tragedy, is sent to a Belgrade children's home. The narrative depicts the harsh survival hierarchies established by the children within the institution and follows Amiraga’s journey as he grows into a figure who is both a protector and a threat to his surroundings. The series aims for authenticity by combining professional actors, such as Kristijan Selimi and Milica Janevski, with non-professional actors.
