Gradey Dick faces Toronto Raptors following blockbuster trade
Gradey Dick suited up for the Los Angeles Clippers in a pre-season game against the Toronto Raptors at Rogers Arena, marking his first appearance against the team that drafted him in 2023.
Dick was a central piece in a major trade that sent him, Brandon Ingram, two unprotected first-round picks for 2031 and 2033, a 2027 first-round pick swap, and two second-round picks to the Clippers in exchange for Kawhi Leonard. The trade was delayed pending an NBA investigation into whether a $28 million endorsement contract involving Leonard violated salary cap rules.
Dick, who was selected 13th overall in the 2023 draft, described the experience of facing his former team as “bittersweet.” During his three seasons in Toronto, he averaged 9.2 points per game over 20 minutes of play.
