Gradiška–Zagreb–Belgrade Highway Project Near Completion in September

The 20‑year road project linking Banja Luka with Zagreb and onward to the Belgrade motorway is slated to finish its third phase in September. The stretch runs from the loop near Novo Varoš to the Zagreb–Belgrade highway and includes the Sava River bridge at Gradiška, built by the Bosnian firm Integral Engineering. The bridge cost €19 million, financed jointly by Croatia and Bosnia‑Herzegovina (Republika Srpska). The first four‑kilometre segment, completed in June 2022, cost about €40 million, while the final segment is valued at €14 million. Officials said, “Radovi se privode kraju u skladu s dinamičkim planom te se očekuje da će isti biti završeni u septembru ove godine.” Completion will end a two‑decade effort to provide a faster, safer corridor between the two capitals.
