Graeme Hinton appointed CEO of Racing NSW

Racing NSW has unanimously appointed Graeme Hinton as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective December 1, 2026. Hinton, who has served as the organization’s acting CEO since July and previously held the role of Chief Operating Officer for over a decade, will succeed Peter V’landys.

Hinton has played a significant role in the organization’s recent commercial growth, including the launch of The Everest and the expansion of the NSW Spring Carnival. Racing NSW Chair Dr. Saranne Cooke noted that the board had a succession plan in place for several years and emphasized that Hinton’s deep knowledge of wagering, racing programs, and equine welfare was critical for the industry’s future.

Outgoing CEO Peter V’landys endorsed Hinton, describing him as a brilliant commercial operator with extensive knowledge of every aspect of the racing industry.
