Graeme Souness labels Arsenal's Bukayo Saka a ‘cheat’
Former Liverpool captain Graeme Souness has accused Arsenal forward Bukayo Saka of simulation, calling him a ‘cheat’ during an appearance on Piers Morgan’s Football Uncensored. Souness claimed that Saka goes to ground too easily to win fouls and argued that the player simulates contact when he appears to be losing possession.
Souness further alleged that Arsenal players exert undue pressure on referees by surrounding them and protesting when Saka goes down. He suggested that this collective reaction causes officials to doubt their initial instincts and overturn correct decisions to award fouls.
Souness noted that while simulation is a widespread issue in modern football, Saka’s behavior is particularly notable. However, statistics indicate that Saka remains one of the most fouled players in the Premier League, ranking second for fouls drawn so far this season behind Manchester City's Elliot Anderson.
