Gragnano man arrested for assaulting grandmother and mother

A 30-year-old man has been arrested in Gragnano, Italy, following a violent domestic assault against his grandmother and mother. The man, who was already under house arrest, reportedly attacked his 75-year-old grandmother with a broom handle after water spilled on the kitchen floor while she was attempting to clean a food stain from her clothing.

According to reports, the assailant struck the elderly woman in the head, causing her to fall, and then dragged her through the house by her hair. He also sprayed a beverage over her. The man's 17-year-old sister alerted authorities after fleeing to her room. When the man's mother returned home and attempted to intervene, she was also physically assaulted, including being struck and dragged by her hair.

Carabinieri officers arrived at the scene and arrested the man. He faces charges of domestic abuse. The victims reported to authorities that they have been frequent targets of his violence in the past.
