Graham Alexander departs Bradford City for Preston North End

Graham Alexander is departing Bradford City to join Championship side Preston North End. Bradford City confirmed they reluctantly granted the manager permission to hold talks regarding the vacant managerial post at Preston.

Alexander, 54, has a significant history with Preston North End, having made 372 league appearances for the club during his playing career. He leaves Bradford following a successful tenure that included leading the team to automatic promotion from League Two during the 2024-25 season and reaching the League One Play-Off semi-finals the following year.

In a farewell message, Alexander expressed that he is ‘eternally grateful’ for the opportunity and support received at Bradford City, noting that the decision to leave was incredibly difficult. Preston North End is seeking a new head coach following the recent dismissal of Paul Heckingbottom.
