Grains Australia hosts Indonesian delegation at AGIC Week 2026
During the Australian Grains Industry Conference (AGIC) Week 2026, Grains Australia hosted a delegation of flour millers from major Indonesian companies, including Bogasari and Cerestar. The visit was conducted in partnership with Grain Trade Australia and Austrade under the Accessing New Markets Initiative.
Indonesia remains one of Australia’s largest wheat markets, with an annual average export value of $1.83 billion. The delegation participated in industry briefings and field trips to Horsham and Geelong to strengthen connections across the Australian grains supply chain.
In discussions regarding Southeast Asian feed grain markets, Grains Australia’s General Manager of Trade and Market Access, John Southwell, noted that while the region presents significant opportunities, non-tariff measures continue to cost the industry billions. He emphasized that close collaboration between the government and the grain supply chain is essential for maintaining trade and market access.
