Gérald Genta unveils Geneva Minute Repeater Golden Obsidian
Gérald Genta has unveiled the Geneva Minute Repeater Golden Obsidian at Geneva Watch Days. This new iteration of the timepiece features a dial made from Golden Obsidian, a volcanic glass characterized by trapped pockets of air, gas, and iron that create a stone-like texture and depth.
The watch is housed in a 40mm, 9.6mm-thick 3N yellow gold cushion-shaped case. Designed by Matthieu Hegi, the case architecture—including hollowed-out sections in the bezel and caseback—is specifically engineered to optimize the acoustic performance of the minute repeater complication.
Powered by the in-house GG-022 manually wound movement developed by La Fabrique du Temps, the watch offers an 80-hour power reserve. The design maintains the brand’s vintage-inspired aesthetic, utilizing a single-lug design and polished gold hands and markers.
