Grambling State University band featured in parade and national commercial

Grambling State University’s World Famed Tiger Marching Band is participating in several high-profile events as the institution and band approach major anniversaries. The band is set to lead the 57th African American Day Parade in Harlem on September 20. This marks a return to a tradition the band helped launch in 1969, when it opened the inaugural parade featuring grand marshals Adam Clayton Powell Jr. and Shirley Chisholm.

Additionally, the World Famed is featured in Urban Outfitters’ “All Together Now” national back-to-campus commercial campaign. As the only Historically Black College or University (HBCU) represented in the advertisement, six Grambling State students appear alongside performers from various other universities. These appearances coincide with the band’s upcoming 100th anniversary and Grambling State’s 125th anniversary in 2026.
