Grampian Forest Rally serves as WRC testing ground in Scotland
The Grampian Forest Rally in Scotland served as a testing ground for the upcoming World Rally Championship (WRC) event scheduled for next year. The rally featured several high-profile international drivers participating in the 91 km gravel event.
M-Sport secured a one-two finish, with Irish driver Jon Armstrong taking victory. He finished 9.3 seconds ahead of his teammate, Romet Jürgenson. Other notable performances included Nikolay Gryazin, who finished third in a Lancia, and Alexandre Villiod, who won the Rally4 category.
WRC leader Elfyn Evans also participated, driving a Toyota GR Yaris Rally2 to familiarize himself with the Scottish special stages. Evans noted that the terrain is faster than typical Welsh stages, though he cautioned that the exact direction of the stages for next year's championship remains unconfirmed.
