Gran Canaria allocates 3.6 million euros to repair GC-211 highway

The Cabildo de Gran Canaria has launched a public tender valued at 3.6 million euros to repair the GC-211 highway, which connects El Toscón in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria with El Hornillo in Teror.

The road is currently in a critical state due to heavy usage, with approximately 448 heavy vehicles, including trucks and buses, passing through daily. Inspections revealed significant structural deterioration between kilometer points 0+000 and 2+900, including cracks, potholes, surface loss, and deformations.

The project aims to perform a structural rehabilitation of the road surface and improve safety features, such as the replacement of safety barriers, across a 4.4-kilometer stretch to ensure safer transit for commuters.
