Law enforcement seizes tons of cocaine in multi-region narcotics operations

Law enforcement agencies across South America and Europe have conducted several major narcotics operations, resulting in significant drug seizures and arrests.

In Ecuador, police in the coastal province of El Oro intercepted two tons of cocaine hidden in a fruit export container at the port of Machala. The shipment was destined for Sweden.

In Spain, the Guardia Civil intercepted a narcolancha approximately 70 miles south of Gran Canaria. The vessel was carrying 3,360 kilograms of cocaine across 139 bundles. Five armed crew members, carrying an assault rifle and a light machine gun, were arrested following a high-speed pursuit.

In Argentina, multiple operations targeted drug distribution. In the Valle de Uco, authorities dismantled a family-run organization in Tunuyán, seizing over 800 grams of cocaine and significant cash. Additionally, a drug-sniffing dog at a Brazo Largo checkpoint detected one kilogram of cocaine in a vehicle traveling from Buenos Aires to Entre Ríos. In Corrientes, police raids in Curuzú Cuatiá and La Cruz led to three arrests and the seizure of cocaine, marijuana, and cash.
