Gran Concepción to distribute 29,000 transport cards for seniors
In Gran Concepción, Chile, the distribution of 29,000 free electronic payment cards for senior citizens is scheduled to begin in the second half of August. This initiative is part of the implementation of a new electronic payment system for the region's taxibuses.
According to Henry Campos, the Seremi of Transport, the distribution will be coordinated with local municipalities and is expected to continue through October. Busmatick, the company managing the implementation, stated that distribution will start in the Hualqui commune.
Following the initial free distribution, general public cards and additional senior cards will be available for purchase at approximately 700 commercial locations starting September 21, following the national holidays. Each card will have a cost of $1,550.
