Gran Maestro Faustino Oro launches national simultaneous chess tour in Tigre, Argentina
The 12‑year‑old Argentine Grand Master Faustino Oro began his national tour of simultaneous chess exhibitions at the Museo de Arte Tigre (MAT) on the opening day of the International Chess Week. The event featured 25 simultaneous games against local school players and included a public lesson by instructor Cristian Dolezal.
Mayor Julio Zamora, Education Secretary Gisela Zamora, and national Tourism, Environment and Sports Secretary Daniel Scioli attended, praising the city’s chess program that involves more than 10,000 students. Oro received a municipal distinction for his achievements and announced the next stops of the tour: Mar del Plata on 6 August and Rosario on 8 August. The tour aims to promote chess as an educational tool and to inspire young players across Argentina.
