Gran Turismo 7 sees high sales and experimental PC emulation tests
Gran Turismo 7 continues to demonstrate significant commercial success and technical interest. Producer Kazunori Yamauchi has confirmed that the title's sales have exceeded initial expectations, with recent estimates suggesting over 14 million copies sold for the seventh installment. This success has contributed to the entire franchise surpassing 100 million units sold worldwide. Due to a growing user base, Polyphony Digital plans to continue releasing new content, including the upcoming Spec IV update.
In a separate technical development, experimental emulation tests have shown Gran Turismo 7 running on PC via the KytyPS5 emulator. A recent test using high-end hardware, including an AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080, achieved a performance range of approximately 17–25 fps. While the demonstration shows gameplay in action, the performance levels are currently considered insufficient for a smooth racing experience, and the project remains a work in progress rather than an official PC port.
