Gran Turismo 7 World Series Round 2 to broadcast from Tokyo

The 2026 Gran Turismo World Series Round 2 is scheduled to broadcast from Polyphony Digital’s Tokyo studio on Saturday, August 15. This round features the Manufacturers Cup and the Nations Cup. Unlike previous events, these broadcasts consist of pre-recorded races filmed behind closed doors at the studio to replace the previously cancelled Abu Dhabi opener.

In the Manufacturers Cup, the competition shifts focus to Asia-Oceania drivers. Key driver changes include Takuma “Takuan” Sasaki representing Porsche, Jun Hashima for Ferrari, and Kojiro Sasaki for Mercedes-AMG. The current standings show Porsche leading Ferrari by one point.

To celebrate the event, Gran Turismo 7 has launched a player campaign. Participants can win up to two million in-game credits by correctly predicting the winners of the Manufacturers and Nations Cups. Additionally, players can win exclusive ‘Stealth Model’ race cars, specifically the Toyota FT-1 Vision Gran Turismo Gr. 3 and the Mazda 787B ’91, by streaming the competitions.

Series creator Kazunori Yamauchi has also teased an upcoming game update expected this week, which is anticipated to include four new cars: the Hyundai Ioniq 6 N, Caterham Seven, Toyota Mark II Tourer V, and Toyota Chaser Tourer V.
