Granada and European cities highlight dark legends and folklore

As Halloween approaches, several European cities are highlighting their historical legends and dark folklore through nocturnal tours and local traditions. In Spain, Granada offers routes focused on its mysterious past, including tales of apparitions and historical mysteries within its old quarters. The city previously hosted a municipal initiative titled ‘Casas granadinas con fantasmas’ (Granada houses with ghosts), which used legends of haunted buildings—such as stories of a woman in black at the old Clinical Hospital—to connect residents with local literature and history.

Other Spanish cities like Seville and Toledo also feature historical routes centered on magic, appearances, and medieval mysteries. Beyond Spain, Edinburgh is noted for its history of witchcraft and medieval streets, while Berlin and Dublin offer tours based on local legends and historical transformations.
