Granada announces solar project and debt reduction plan

The City Council of Granada is implementing several financial and infrastructure initiatives. The municipal company Emucesa has launched a tender for a 73.84 kWp photovoltaic project at the San José Cemetery. The project, with a budget of approximately 124,168 euros, involves the supply, installation, and maintenance of solar modules to promote self-consumption and the use of surplus energy.

Additionally, the Granada City Council plans to allocate 3,720,910.41 euros from its 2025 budget surplus to the early repayment of municipal debt. This move aims to reduce the city's financial burden and interest payments. This allocation follows the use of 3,638,213.52 euros of the surplus to fund public transportation needs. The debt reduction strategy is part of a broader effort to improve the city's economic situation and financial autonomy.
