Granada expands cultural initiatives with new art and thought centers
The region of Granada is strengthening its cultural profile through two distinct initiatives. In Órgiva, the first 'Encuentro de Artistas en el Sur' (Artists Meeting in the South) has concluded after four days of creative exchange. The event brought together 40 artists from various disciplines and generations to engage in dialogue and collective reflection on contemporary creation. The closing session featured a presentation by renowned photographer Alberto García-Alix.
Additionally, a new center of thought named Hontanar has been established in Granada. Founded and directed by Marichu García Trejo, the center aims to promote interdisciplinary dialogue by bringing together writers, philosophers, scientists, and artists. Hontanar's programming includes forums, workshops, and congresses designed to address contemporary questions through a humanistic lens. Its inaugural activities include a literary research workshop led by writers Lorenzo Silva and Aldo Linares in November.
