Granada heritage: New book explores Carrera del Darro

Historian and official guide Rafael Villanueva Camacho has presented his new book, ‘La carrera del Darro, la calle más bonita de España: Donde la belleza habita. Historia y patrimonio’, at the Carmen del Aljibe del Rey. The work, published by Entorno Gráfico, explores the history and heritage of the Carrera del Darro, a prominent street in Granada.

In related historical context, the Pilar del Toro fountain, located near the Plaza Nueva and Santa Ana area, remains a significant landmark of the city. Attributed to the Renaissance architect Diego de Siloé and dated between 1546 and 1555, the stone fountain features a bull's head and was originally located near Calle Elvira before being moved to its current site.
