Granada launches summer museum programs and traveling exhibition for seniors
The Archaeological and Ethnographic Museum of Granada has begun the third phase of its mobile cultural project “El museo se va de viaje”, which will visit the Active Participation Centres in Baza and Guadix in July 2026. The exhibition, tailored for older adults, features 15 self‑standing panels, 13 archaeological reproductions, guided tours and workshops designed to make heritage accessible to people with limited mobility.
During the same summer, Granada’s museums, archives and libraries are offering a broad cultural agenda. The Archaeological Museum will host concerts as part of the Granada Guitar Festival, while the Fine Arts Museum and the Casa de los Tiros will run workshops for children and an urban camp. The Library of Andalusia presents a music‑instrument exhibition and a summer reading series, and the Provincial Public Library displays a literary exhibition about romantic travellers. In addition, the Royal Chancery of Granada will make more than 53,000 digitised historical documents and 240 historic maps publicly available.
