Granada man imprisoned after fishing hook assault

A man has been sent to prison following a violent assault in the Lancha del Genil neighborhood of Granada. The incident began as a traffic dispute after a vehicle nearly struck a couple while they were using a pedestrian crossing.

According to reports, the driver exited his vehicle and used a metal fishing hook to pierce a pedestrian's arm. The attacker then used the hook to secure the victim to a nearby railing, leaving him immobilized. Emergency services and firefighters had to intervene, using bolt cutters to free the man from the metal implement.

The suspect surrendered to the National Police following negotiations after being identified through security camera footage. He has since appeared in court and been ordered into judicial custody.
