Granada to host decisive Vuelta a España stage

The 2026 Vuelta a España will feature a decisive penultimate stage through the province of Granada, Spain. The 20th stage covers 186.8 kilometers, starting in La Calahorra and concluding at Collado del Alguacil.

This route will take riders from the Marquesado del Zenete through the demanding peaks of Sierra Nevada, offering a final opportunity to influence the general classification. The municipality of Güéjar Sierra has prepared for the event by allocating 230,000 euros to improve the route, marking the fifth time the area has hosted the race in 13 years.

Key locations for the stage include the historical landscapes of La Calahorra and the high-altitude terrain of Collado del Alguacil, which will serve as the finish line for this critical leg of the competition.
